Jaywalking is a capital crime in the eyes of quite a large number of the populace... ^ ^ The funniest case was this old crook who accosted me on my way home after a party, when I was still in High School. It was 3am, this guy was waiting to cross the road on a red light, and I just did it coming from the opposite side - after all, the streets were EMPTY, so I crossed. Well, that hobo-type guy was pretty drunk, you could tell from the way he was wobbling on the spot. And even from HIM I got, at 3 am in an empty street: "Oi! You colourblind or what...? Useless young punks..." Thanks, Kurt. Yeah, you got it. I found that too! One ever present memory was the look I got from one particularly irate mother with a kid who I could tell saw my "jaywalking" behavior as only a few steps behind armed robbery.
