It’s the holidays. And though we all believe in Santa, unlike his merry little elves, we shall be taking a break over the next week. We’ll be back with our usual swash-buckling fare come January 4, 2010. Till then, have a terrific holiday break and keep on building that community!

About Kurt Heinrich

Who are you? I work as a storyteller. In my spare time I like to volunteer on a variety of environmental and political initiatives as well as help coordinate a soccer team based in the Downtown Eastside. What do you do for fun? I like to cook, cycle, read, chillax, eat French and Japanese food, play with my friends, shoot the breeze with my mom, dad and sisters, explore new and interesting communities, sip the Bump and Grind's delicious Clover brew, and spend time with my lovely red headed partner Theo. What’s your favorite community and why? Right now my favorite community is the Drive. It's hip, happening and varied hosting people as diverse as a Deloitte consultant (you know who you are...) to a stick twirling, leather-homemade-clothes-wearing dude known as "Cloud Man".

  1. For all of our new Correspondents, please take note of my angry face – sure, it needs to be burnt into your brains in terms of deadlines, positive-vibe-creation, action-items, and excellent stories. Really, though, this “angry face” came about because I was becoming so full at Thanksgiving dinner, but there was so much good food still to eat! And so it shall be with The Daily Gumboot herein – so many great ideas are sure to dance across this publication, and there just might not be enough time to take it all in!

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to it…
